I specialise in teaching popular music with lessons that boost your confidence and strengthen your voice. You’ll learn to choose the right songs, increase your range, smooth out vocal breaks, improve your breathing and make great recordings. Our regular concerts also give you the chance to perform.

Piano lessons

For example, Callum is learning scales and chords in order to improvise, George is training for the ABRSM exams playing classical music and Megan is learning how to accompany her singing on piano.

Recording sessions
This is a unique opportunity to have a singing teacher engineer the recording.
I’ll help you choose the best song and make sure you’re well prepared.
You’ll be coached in microphone technique, double tracking and all the “tricks of the trade”. You’ll become relaxed in front of a mic and make recordings that you’ll be proud to share. I guarantee that you will love the result!

Daniela is now touring international jazz venues and festivals as vocalist for Nate Najar, top Brazilian jazz guitarist.
I love music, have always been in choirs and tried to learn piano as a child. I am now in my 70's, decided to give it another go and found Vera. Vera's approach is perfect for me. She bases my lessons around the music I enjoy, teaching me chords which enable me to attempt to play lots of contemporary and classical pieces which I never in a million years thought I could enjoy playing. She also encourages me to write my own pieces of music using the chords as the framework. I can't tell you how much pleasure it gives me to feel freed up from difficult sight reading and to be able to relax and make my own music. I thank Vera for her wonderful approach to teaching and for sharing her talent and love of music with all her pupils.

Thank you Mary, It is so rewarding for me to see your progress and hear you really expressing yourself through music. You have a very natural feel for music which comes through clearly. I look forward to hearing you play again at our next student get-together at Trinity Community Hub. There's no stopping you now!!!! Vera I booked the initial free session and decided after that to book a 4 lesson package. Vera provided me with help and guidance to improve my singing warm-ups and technique culminating in recording me singing my chosen track. Vera also gave me the opportunity to sing at one of her concert rehearsals in Clitheroe, which was a great learning opportunity singing in front of a audience. All in all the experience has given me confidence to continue developing my voice. Thank you.

Dear Jen,What a lovely review! Thank you. I’m so glad that Isabel came to my studio for lessons and I got to know her well and move her forward with her music. The highlight for me was watching her respond so deeply to the emotion of a song and really get “inside it” when she sang it. My students can now keep in touch with me and the other students by coming to Music Club which will be held 6 times a year. I look forward to seeing Isabel at the next one. All the best. Vera 🎶🎶 I was told by a primary school teacher that I couldn't sing and that I should "shut up and stop spoiling the lesson". So I shut up for 50-odd years and mimed my way through "Happy Birthday","You'll Never Walk Alone", Christmas Carol concerts, and so on.As I got older I wondered how much of a loss to singing I was and decided to take a big bold step and see a professional singing teacher.I won't lie, it was nerve-wracking but nothing ventured, nothing gained.The good news is that I wasn't bad and I could actually sing. Within 4 weeks I'd recorded a song that I am proud of, I'd belted out "You'll Never Walk Alone" at a football match, and I'd sang along with the family at home. What a feeling.I'm ever so grateful to Vera for leading me and giving me the confidence to have a go, for making it uncomplicated and easy to follow, and for making it fun.If you are wondering whether to have a go, just do it; you won't regret it.

Thank you Rachel. It was a real pleasure to help your daughter. She is a very quick learner and soaked up the information and training. Her concentration level is through the roof and I know that she could be an excellent pianist if she chooses to put the time in. I hope to teach her again in the future. All the best, Vera I'm 7 lessons into a series of 10 weekly, hour-long sessions and it is no exaggeration to say my singing has improved way beyond my expectations.I found Vera's Music Studio online and was impressed that the free 30-minute trial lesson was on offer, and after a quick phone call, that lesson was booked for a few days later.When I got to the studio I was immediately impressed with the professional approach - a perfectly equipped soundproofed studio set the tone and Vera's gentle and encouraging exploration of my musical experiences, my goals and other relevant questions gave me the confidence to book the 10 lessons.Since then each session has been structured around those goals, with some necessary instruction on posture, breathing, range etc used to create a foundation on which we have built a small repertoire of songs that have seen my confidence and ability develop.Vera's vast knowledge, experience, ability to identify where I am going wrong and coaching me to correct that is remarkable. Vera As an adult non beginner and in just 4 lessons, Vera listened to my requirements and tailored the lessons specifically to meet my needs and send me home with the tools I needed to improve my playing. Vera After looking around for a suitable vocal coach for sometime, I came across Vera and after an induction session knew I’d found the right coach. Vera has crafted a lesson plan which caters for exactly what I need to gain confidence, improve control and move forward in my songwriting and vocal performance. As an established guitarist and songwriter, it was the next step in my career to be able to perform vocals in the studio to record and perform independently from outsourcing session vocalists, not only have I gained huge insight into what I can do with my voice, I have begun a journey into learning how to express my music in ways I hadn’t thought possible before working with Vera.
